SOOOO frustrated!
My journey has been very text book. Since surgery at the end of July I have lost a total og 105lbs and am 20lbs to goal..and 30lbs to ideal weight!!
Working out is my drug instead of food, but injuries have been plaguing me lately. I have a chronic hip issue which I have managed so far. Today I just got the results of my shoulder pain. I have 2 tears in my rotator cuff! I knew it too. (old volleyball injury)
I have been told to ice it and take advil. Yeah not happening. SO the other non surgical option is complete immobilization!! Are you kidding me now. I am on a 5 week stall and just want to keep training. I have already switched from cross fit to running. I am not supposed to even do that!
I just wish my body would so-operate!

I'm going to be in the same boat after surgery. I have an injury that I have been taking advil or aleve for and will not be able to take it any longer. Does anyone have any suggestions for a different type of pain killer that is just as effective that we can take after surgery?

Thanks all, I know I need to rest it so I have been jogging more and no lifting with that arm! Ice is my new best friend and on bad days I take a muscle relaxer at night .,,, also very lovely. Thanks for all the suggestions.
Tracey, when is your surgery?
Pat the achilles is a tough one. Our work colleague who is a health nut is in a cast for 2 months and then NO exercise at all for a torn achilles, good luck,

I don't have a date as I keep putting it off. Mine isn't a torn rotator cuff and it requires 6 months of immobilation of my arm after surgery, so I'm just not ready to have that happen anytime soon. I was to have it repaired a few years ago and did the pre op and everything but the day before I was to leave for Toronto for surgery, I slipped on blac**** and twisted my knee so they'd not operate as I would have 2 quadrants that I couldn't use. I have been doing physio exercises for years to keep it from dislocating but I still need the surgery to fix it as I am limited in what I can do with that arm.
I am the queen of injuries the past 3 years and it's been one thing after another. I was in a cast for a few months for my achilles tendon as well, tore my bicep and the list goes on.
