Just wanted to say hi to everyone
Wanted to drop in and say a quick hello and a congrats to all those with NSVs and goals met and good luck to all those awaiting surgery. I do come on to read when I can and please know that prayers and good vibes are being sent to all of you.
As for me, I do not regret having this surgery for even one second. I have more NSVs than I could have ever imagined. Friday was my latest one...I had a workshop at our board office on Greenbank Rd. Normally hubby would pick me up to give me a ride home. This time however I walked the bicycle path to Baseline Station and caught the bus. It was a 45 minute walk for me and I only stopped 3 times but not to rest, just to have a sip of my water.
I am no longer having to worry about the size of seats in theatres, fitting in my airplane seat in August or going into a restaurant and having to sit in a booth.
I have sooooo many clothes to choose from now (thank you to so wonderful friends) I am no longer wearing just black and white (althugh I do love my black and white lol). I am a full colour girl and love getting dressed in the morning.
Next Sunday I am walking in my first ever mini marathon to raise money for a Hospice Centre in Cornwall in honour of my cousin.
I now do 20 minutes on the eliptical machine and half hour swim every day of the week.
I have gone from not being able to fit in a size 6x cotton shirt to being able to button some size 2x and 3x cotton shirts (depending on the style)
I am physically able once again to help a good buddy from and to his wheelchair once again which means I can now have him come to visits again without having to worry about my hubby being around to help
And next weekend I have to bus back and forth all weekend to my niece's dance comp because my hubby is on call but I am not worried about it in the least. I know I can do it without a problem.
Gosh life is so good right now!
Have I mentioned lately that I LUV my RNY!!

Thanks Monica. Yes, they are VERY impactful! The friend in the wheelchair is one of the ones that has impacted me the most. I used to look after this young fellow on a daily basis. Once I gave it up because of health and a few other reasons, I would take him to visit, out to dinner etc. But as the weight kept piling on and the back and knees were getting sorer, it became harder and harder to do. I know he really missed his visits as did I.
Last weekend he came and spent the day with us and the two of us went walking and did a photo shoot in a beautiful park. He had a great time as did I. I will see if I can upload a pic or two from our adventure.
Thanks again
