It is my one year on Wednesday!
Here are some pics

Hubby and I at a  wedding 2 years ago!

This was taken 1 month ago.
Surgiversary JULY 25/2012

I am very happy with where I am but am stuck on a stupid #
I gave myself a personal goal of 170 lbs and am at 177 lbs from 294 lbs last year.
Not complaining entirely :)
I am in between size 8-10 from size 24 last year.
I can where tops from Lg to Small from size 4x
Newest bikini top was sadly a small...waaaahaaaa :( _ _

For anyone considering this surgery, I can only say make an educated decision. The veterans on this site are amazing. I learned my most valuable information on this site.
As long as you follow the rules you can be successful!
My only regret is that I didn't do this sooner.

As for the not so talked about info, I still hate separating eating and drinking. I miss not being able to take a big drink of water while eatting, but  a small price to pay! I have been very textbook and am very grateful for my progress.
As for my personal relationships, eveyone has been very supportive. My husband is having a bit of difficulty  accepting the new me, but he needs time to adjust as do I.
Before when I as fat my assertiveness made me a "strong woman" now that I am thinner... it is considered "*****y". Funny how that is. I don"t care really but people treat you differently as a thin person. You are no longer "lazy, or unkept", but now "vain and over achievier". Can"t win really.

My friends and family have been true and they know WHO I am :)

Thanks to everyones support on here, and if anyone has any questions I can only offer you my experience but am always happy to answer any questions.
Thanks again
Tanja

You have done AMAZING.....
Isn't it funny (not haha funny)...how when we are heavy we always found someone to hide behind when we were getting our pictures taken - now you stand confident and strong !!!!
Congrat's again !!!!!!!!!

I have reached my goal weight ..... and LOVE my RNY !!!!!!!!!

I think you look amazing. I'd never guess 177 at all. Thanks for your honest assessment of your life post-op. It is nice to read those too

You look wonderful, just beautiful.  It is true, so many of us hide 1/2 of us behind people or objects when we're getting our picture taken - I'm 5' tall and was always in the back row - sometimes you could only see my face and eyes!

And you're right, you can't please everyone, not even worth the effort of trying.

Thanks...I'm 5'10 and bigger framed (german girl) so hence the 177lbs. I'll never be much lighter which is ok.
Hiding behind my husband has never really been successful as I spilled out either side of him and he is not small, he's very fit. For the first time since we have been married I am 10 lbs lighter than him...woohoo!
Lexxiblue...what angel wings? do you an arm flab? I have some, but I have worked out alot since 4 month post op. ALOT of push ups and pull ups.

You look amazing! Congratulations!  So, the myth that after WLS you would need plastic surgery is a myth...you can firm up the looseness?  I have a friend who thinks that since I wouldn't be in a position to afford plastics I may not like the fact that I'll have hanging skin everywhere.  But, if you can do it, there is hope for us all, right?  :)  I mean this as, the ability is there if you put your mind to it and work hard at it...

Moving on doesn't mean you forget about things.  It just means you have to accept what happened and continue LIVING

Wow Tanja,
your pictures and success are amazing. Way to go. I am just looking into the surgery and my family doctor has made the referral. It was great reading your post because your starting weight and current height are exactly like me! Plus, i am a big boned German girl too. I also am a strong woman and have the same concerns that you write about. I am looking forward to this journey and am lucky to have a supportive husband to help. Need to get healthy so I can run around after my kids, ride my bike more and have more energy. Thanks for sharing. p.s. you are my first post..... :)
