Acceptable anxiety meds for surgery?

I agree about talking to her doctor, but I think the idea may be that she is looking for suggestions to ask her doctor about.  It help to know that others in the same situation have tried them and they work. Doctors may know alot about anxiety, but not alot about anxiety and RNY needs together

I take an antidepressant that is small.  HRRH said anything smaller than an M&M could be taken whole post surgery and that is what I did with no problems.  However, definitely discuss with a doctor.

It's not about the size of the pill, but whether it is a timed or extended release formulation... if it is then you aren't getting the full benefit of it, regardless of the size of the pill.

Around surgery time, I was taking clonazepam.  They are tiny pills and I didn't even need to crush them.  They worked for me with no side-effects at all (but everyone is different.
