3 days til my Surgery........and Props for Premier Protein Shakes
Hi everyone,
I posted about 2 weeks ago, really struggling with the whole Optifast deal, having trouble not cheating, etc. Guess what? Its Friday night and my surgery is on Monday at 8am!!! I've lost 22lbs on Optifast. I feel like it should be more, but I'm trying to focus on that amount being a victory. The big victory so far is that I"ve lost 32lbs total since December/12.
I'm excited and scared at the same time. But I feel ready. Its time for my life to change for the better.
Oh ya - I bought a case of the Premier Protein Shakes (ready to drink) at Costco b/c it was recommended by one of the dieticians at HRRH bariatric clinic. And it was actually not bad at all. Though I will confess that anything besides that damn Optifast would taste like heaven to me right now lol. But really, its not something I would run a mile to go get, but its definitely not unpleasant and goes down easily. And there's 30g of protein in each one. And they're packaged like drink boxes, but a little bigger. So, I'm so happy to have this as part of my post op plan to help with getting all the protein in that we need!!!
It's really nice to be feeling positive about this. I hope I can hold on to that feeling!!
Cheers peeps,
Andrea
lol yep Dr. Starr is going to be busy. I'm up first at 8am. Which means I have to be there for 6am. Yuck! But its all worth it. I'm thinking I'm going to have trouble sleeping anyway, so I might just end up staying awake the whole night.
I would give my right arm to be done with this Optifast lol
Thanks for the congratulations and kind words everyone!
Yes, I actually bought a Costco membership so I could get the Premier Protein shakes. I tried several other kinds and couldn't choke them down, but I don't mind PPS at all.
Best of luck with your surgery! Sounds like you're preparing well for post-op life. It's an amazing ride!

Hi Andrea,
You're doing so amazing - 10lbs before Opti and 22lbs on Opti! Twenty-two pounds is a lot of weight to lose on Opti - consider that a great victory!!!! Your surgeons will be so pleased when they operate on you now!
You'll be in my thoughts on the day of your surgery and I wish you all the best for a safe, successful operation, and a speedy and uneventful recovery!!
Jenn. :)
