April surgery in Ottawa
I have been scheduled for rny on April 30th in Ottawa:) Is anyone else scheduled around that time? Also, does anyone have any words of wisdom about the Optifast?? I'm hoping to build up some supports for this journey!!

Hello otmama - congratulations on getting your date! I will be completing my pre-op and meet the surgeon in the next few weeks or so, so I am a few months behind you. Just wanted to say good luck with everything. You could try using the search feature - the magnifying glass at top right of the screen- to see past postings about this topic as well. Keep us posted about how things are going...

There is an Ottawa facebook group for people who will/had have weight loss surgery. It is private, until you're invited you cannot see who is in it or even see the group exists at all. If you have facebook and you are interested, send me a message here :)
There is also a closet where you can grab new to you clothes and donate your old ones while you shrink.

I just joined the 'closet' on Facebook to try to donate some clothes that no longer fits and to find one or two pieces that I can work with while transitioning to smaller sizes. This is a trip, that's for sure!
As an FYI to Ottawa folks, there's a coffee night tonight at the Starbucks at Merivale/Hunt Club; I'm going to be able to go for the very first time and I'm looking forward to meeting people. These coffee nights are advertised on the private Facebook page as well. By all means, if you're in Ottawa and going to have surgery, or have had surgery, do send someone a PM here so you can get the group's information and join. The more support we have, the better.
