I think any blender would be fine - mine is a Kenmore but I've had it for years!  I also have a baby bullet but it's not as good at blending ice and is smaller so one optic shake would fill it.  Just check out any depth store for what's on sale - somewhere like Walmart or Sears so if something does touring you can return it!  Also you'll want your blender to purée your food after surgery:) Happy shopping!

I went with a nutribullet for the optifast, and now I also use it for the pureed stuff after the surgery...

Thanks everybody, I believe our price range is between $20- $40 and my husband wants to make sure the motor is a certain size to crush the ice with  plus as you have mentioned want to use it after wards to puree food .  There is a kitchen stuff plus very near by and I understand they are reasonable prices and can walk there plus do a mall walk and get a nice bottle of cold water in a couple days. Out on the bus running erands tomorrow so gone for 3-5 hrs

There is a Hamilton Beach personal blender that works fine for me.  I paid about $15.00 at Walmart and it crushes ice fine.

I bought the Ninja Master. It worked amazing! Much better then the Magic Bullet as It didn't crush the ice well enough. I love the magic bullet for everything else :-)

Good luck!
