Here's how to never waste canned pumpkin again!

I love using pumpkin in my protein shakes but I admit there are two problems I always have:

#1 - Pulling out all the stuff I want to put in the shake to make it taste just like pumpkin pie

#2 - Storing the rest of the canned pumpkin and using it before it goes bad.

Well, I have a solution for both!

Check out my pumpkin pie protein shake starters on Bariatric Foodie and learn how to kill two birds with one stone, making pumpkin shakes time and money saving!

That's pretty smart! Nice! I literally just "stored" leftover pumpkin in the fridge today, knowing that I wouls likely toss it moldy in a week or two. LOL

Thanks Nic!! Always love your recipes! Does protein powder freeze well? I was thinking of adding it beforehand to the pumpkin starter.

I've never tried. I personally wouldn't just because you only want to use about an ounce or two of the pumpkin and putting a whole scoop of powder into that amount of pumpkin might be weird.

Canned pumpkin also makes a very good base for savory dishes. I use it with canned chicken, chicken broth, yellow curry, and some season salt to make very tasty pumpkin chicken soup.

I know spice and vanilla would be to each persons liking but was wondering how much you use?

Awesome! I was drooling over your pumpkin shake recipe just the other day!

Random question: maybe I didnt look hard enough but can we pin things on Pinterest from your site? I bet you would get even more traffic if we could pin specific recipes.

I believe there's a "Pin it" button on each post. If not if you have the Pin It button on your browser you can. I don't mind so long as there is a link back.
