Is it normal??

I'm 3 days post op... other than being tired at night (normal time to sleep), I haven't been fatigued. I mean I am not ready to walk or run a marathon, but found I have more energy then pre-surgery.  Am I just strange??  I have been able to get in my fluid intake since my 2nd day in the hospital.  Thanks in advance!!

Hugs, Cari

Good for you! It is normal for you, everyone is different. I have heard of other people who popped right back. I was pretty good after one week, except for tiredness.... Welcome to the losers bench

I felt like that also. You do have to walk and do somethings. But you do need to heal. I think after I had surgery I was on a high I think.

I'm glad to hear it may happen like that I was really worried about returning to work, since I don't have much vacation time.

I'm curious to the vets, how much time off do most people need before they go back to work?  A few days, one week, two...more?  Whats the consensus?

I also did very well from the very beginning. Never felt the exhaustion I've read about.

First off, congrats!!

Also, I was only on pain meds for 3 days, and I was super sleepy while on them (because they are narcotics), but once I was off of them, I had SO MUCH energy. I'm 3 weeks post op, and my energy has just SOARED since surgery. Definitely walk, but don't overdo it. :)

Everyone is different and has varying recovery experiences.  I had an easy recovery too.  You aren't strange at all.  Enjoy your new post-op life!

It varies a great deal between individuals.  I also tend to bounce back very quickly.  Enjoy your new life!
