Had my RNY about 12 hours ago!!!!! When I was in my room I woke up and said I need to walk. The nurse laughed and clapped her hands, I did 1 lap around the unit. Going back to sleep now, pretty tired and sore.

Congratulations! Keep on walking! I ended up doing roughly 3 miles while in the hospital, and I truly believe that's why I had minimal pain from day 1!

What a great memory you'll have of your first 12 hours after surgery.  Welcome to being a post-op.  (Your nurse sounds great.)

I was out of it for a bit but walked once I woke up. I walked and walked and really other than the Jackson Pratt drain I had, wasn't bad at all!
