Morning All!

Last night I decided to head over to my mom's house. We had some family visiting and the local theater was playing the Princess Bride, so I stayed for dinner then we headed over to see the movie (still one of the best movies ever, btw!). It meant that my dinner was not as planned, but I stayed "good". I had grilled chicken and veggies. Not enough fat in the meal for Keto, but no bad choices. Oh and three cheers for me, please--I did not have popcorn at the theater!

Anyway it was a late night and they live over an hour away, so I decided to sleep over. I will leave after breakfast. I hope they have eggs! If not I will hit a Starbucks on the way home and grab egg bites.

All this to say... no menu for me yet. I will play it by ear for the start of the day and make a plan when I get home and know what is happening. I'll try to come back and post it later.

Accountability: Perfect with food and even better with my workouts. I am done with my first week of 1/2 marathon training and its going really well. No aches and pains and I am ready to change the ratio of run walk time to a lot longer run.

QOTD: Do you have any scars? I am a bad healer, and my scars are ropy and big from every little nick I have ever gotten. My worst ones are from the removal of my lapband port and one on my inner thigh from a playground accident when I was 4 or 5.

Updated with my menu!

Exercise: It's a rest day from running. I think I am going swimming later and will probably get on the stationary bike at home, too.

  • High Weight before LapBand: 200 (2008)
  • High Weight before RNY: 160 (2015)
  • Lowest post-op weight: 110 (2016)
  • Maintenance Weight: 120 (2017-2019)
  • Battling Regain Weight: 135 (current)

Good morning!! Quick post here.

Qotd - I have one on my cheek from falling on a glass when I was a sleepwalking toddler, most people don't even notice it but kids ask about it all the time (kids see EVERYTHiNG) I have dog bite scars on one leg, and my right hand has scars from punching a window out to call for help when the kitchen was on fire (the fire was between me and the door outside). Plus the laparoscopic scars for gallbladder and RNY.

Menu is up in the air -- I am having coffee, about to do a quick workout and then have breakfast at the hotel - definitely will have eggs. After that, I'm not really on control of meals for the day but I do have a couple of protein bars if there aren't any good options. I'm sure there will be good options.

accountability - Didn't get to the hotel until after 10 so has nuts and went to bed. Also had the 100 calorie pack of shortbread cookies on the airplane.

ex - once I hit post I'm doing a yoga video to get ready for the day

v/m/l should be on track

have a terrific Tuesday!

Both my parents worked nights, so I would make dinner for myself and One night I put something on the stove and then went into my bedroom to read....and it was a really good book. Pot caught on fire along with the cabinets, the ceiling, etc. I remember opening the door to what seemed like a wall of flames (I'm sure it wasn't, because we were still able to live there but it seemed like it)! I couldn't get the bedroom window open to get out, so I punched a hole in the window and screamed until the neighbor came and saved me. I could have used the desk chair to break the window, I could have wrapped my hand in the blanket but NO, I had to use my inner action star and it's much easier to do in the movies, lol!

The dog bite was actually pretty horrible, i went to visit a classmate and didn't know her two dogs were biters - they both bit me when I went in the yard. I have nightmares still dogs, and about what would have happened if I had fallen before I got out of the yard. They were very well trained, didn't bark, didn't chase me once I was out of the yard but they were definitely "attack" dogs - I think now that the owners never should have had them in a residential neighborhood like that. I'm still very nervous around dogs I don't know even though I know most dogs don't bite!

Jen, that's horrible (dogs) and so so scary (Fire). How old were you when left alone at night?

8ish...my parents were very young...and kind of bad at parenting, lol. It was the 70s...lots of bad judgement, I think!

I know...driving with no seat belt, riding bikes with no helmet. But holy moly, you were left alone at 8? I Don't mean to put you on the spot and sorry if I'm doing it, but since I've had kids I'm very emotional when I hear even about past stories. DH grew up in a very dysfunctional family and when he tells me stories I just wanna go back and protect that little boy that had to put up with so much. OK, I better go chop some onions.

Oh, you have such a kind heart!!

The good news is when you're young like that, you don't know it's bad parenting or to expect anything different; it's only when you grow up and get out in the world that you have the "WHAT were they thinking " feelings!

hi

I find if I plan really well I'm not pressed to eat more processed food like cake bites, protein bars, etc. Its a slippery slope. anyway, my food plan went really well and I didn't even have whipped cream on my coffee even though I wanted it.

I walked 10,000 steps for lunch in the super heat and then went by gym for weights on the way home. it worked out really nice and was more relaxed in the evening and I think I slept better though woke at 3:45 again for some reason. I was able to go back to sleep for another hour though.

QOTD: yes, I have a few chicken pox scars, a scar from busting my chin open as a kid, c section type scar from ovarian cyst removal, scars from RNY, gallbladder and hernia/tb repair also. oh also have a scar from a suspected brown recluse bite on my knee.

food plan today

coffee

water

coffee

prot pancakes

Korean bbq with kimchi

salad with buddig turkey packet

not sure quite what else, we will see- haven't totally planned the rest out.
