Good morning and Happy Friday! Who has a long weekend ahead? I do! I don't really have any solid plans, either. I have an another eye appointment tomorrow, and then we are hoping to get up to NH, but we don't have any firm plans, yet.

Photo Friday... a triptych of progress pics, because I am still a work of progress and always will be...

Before:

After (about a year ago...not my lowest weight by far, but at a more comfortable weight):

Now (Must. Lose. 5.Lbs.):

QOTD: Has the list of people you told about your surgery changed from pre-op until now? I know a lot of people did not tell right away, then had a big reveal after a year or so. Not me... I told my parents and BFF, and that is literally it. Ever. The only other people who know are people who my parents and BFF told without my permission (which is an aggravatingly long lost, btw!). On the one hand, I would like to be a success story for surgery to take away the stigma, but on the other hand, I didn't think I would be able to handle the scrutiny of people watching and judging me, and I think that was the right choice for me.

No dinner plans, yet...

Morning to the early wake up crew! I woke up at 4am to use the bathroom and knew I should get more sleep, but then waking up at 5am felt painful when it normally doesn't. Today is going to be a busy day. I need to do the normal school drop offs, take Jon to work, take the dog to his sitter's, go to Wal-mart to buy an inexpensive sweat suit to wear pre-race, take an exam for my class, finish packing, pack the car, pick up both kids a little early from school, and then go pick Jon up from work and get on the road to the beach. It takes us about 3-3.5 hours to get there. My race is on Sunday.

QOTD: Since I've moved 800 miles from home since my surgery, I actually tell a lot LESS people now. Where it was something that always used to come up as people who hadn't seen me in a long time encountered my weight loss, people here don't know me as anything but my thin body. I still tell people if it's relevant to the conversation, but it's rarely on my mind at this point. I mostly feel like a normal person and I don't think anyone would think my way or amount of eating was unlikely any other thin person.

My Food:

  • Pre-Breakfast: Coffee w/ Cream x2
  • Breakfast: English Muffin, Egg, Cheese, Sausage
  • Lunch: Frozen meal - I have a few to choose from with shrimp and rice, pasta, or risotto
  • Dinner: Will be a gas station meal on the road, so probably hard boiled eggs and meat/cheese roll ups as that's my go-to.

I will run 1 mile tomorrow as a shake out run and 13.1 glorious (I hope) flat miles on Sunday.

I posted this picture on IG the other day and several people messaged me to say I looked like a teenager. I do not agree, but I guess I'll be taking all my selfies in our powder room lighting from now on. I took it to show my straightened hair, which I haven't actually done for years prior to this.

Phew I am tired just reading that to-do list, let alone the thought of running the actual race, lol. Good luck!

Look how long your hair has gotten! SO pretty!

You do look like a teenager, or maybe a lower classman in college. So....what's your secret?

Morning all and happy Friday! I'm still half asleep. Very short post today before I head off to work.

Accountability: wasn't good last night. Got into a damn bag of flavored popcorn that was calling my name and just kept munching away. Ugh! Today I WILL do better!

QOTD: I normally only tell people who ask what I'm doing to lose weight. I had planned on keeping it to myself, but when I returned back to work after surgery it seemed like everyone already knew. So word spread fast and seemed like keeping it to myself was useless.

B: premier shake

B2: coffee w/Splenda

L: turkey and cheese roll up

D: not sure yet, but it's going to be something light. Maybe another premier or L&F yogurt.

It's funny--like Erin (above), I moved into a new position after the surgery so I didn't really have a work environment that knew me before and after, so that made it easier to fly under the radar and keep it a secret. Were people at work supportive about it? Did you get any judgement?

Good Morning! Happy Fri-yay! Always inspiring to see progress pics- love your pics, JB. I have to report ti jury duty this morning (boo!). No long weekend here (another boo!). We have a housewarming and church event to attend but not much else. I need to do some crochet work on a project I'm hoping works out for gifts for my employees.

Accountability: on plan

QOTD: I've been an open book about it since I made the decision to do it.

Menu is up in the air due to jury duty. I'll have my latte before I head there and take boiled eggs for breakfast and a few protein bars and nuts to be safe.
