Fupa question for the ladies

I had bypass a little less than 3 months ago... I have an awkward question for the ladies. As you lose your weight, does the Fupa go away?? Or just feel like it stays the same?? I have a rather large mid section/trunk/thigh area too and when I lost weight in the past, everywhere else lost weight first, and it was slow for my mid section. but the fupa, ugh I hate it the most.

if the fat goes, there is often a lot of hanging skin. Part of this journey for many of us, is plastic surgery. After you have lost your excess weight and are at your goal, you can work with a plastic surgeon to get any needed corrections.

That is normally selfpay, so something you will want to plan and save for.

There is a quote in Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies that stuck with me, "Weight loss surgery gave me back my health and plastic surgery gave me back my self esteem".

Thank you. I guess I better start saving! I have a feeling I'm gonna need it down the line.

Everything is hanging and sagging for me however age plays a big part I was 53 when I came to my senses. You have a better chance of things bouncing back if your younger.

I am 30. But I have a lot of excess EVERYTHING around my hips/stomach. I am not going to rely on my age for that fact, alone. I have a strong inkling that I am going to have to have it surgically removed but hoping for the best!

Mine shrunk and became less heavy, but even at a ridiculously low body fat (like 14%) I still had hanging skin to have removed for plastics.

Are you happy with your results? or do you still see yourself "as before"?

Yes, I'm happy. I no longer have body dysmorphia to that degree. I'm 4 years out from surgery and I'm used to my new body now. That's not to say I don't critique myself, but I'm happy.

I'm 5'7" tall and maintain in the 135-145lb range without any issues.
