It's super easy and yummy! In the crockpot, it's just chicken breasts (or your cut of choice), butter and the juice from lemons, and then I like peppers (strips of red, green, yellow are the best) in there too! I used to have it with egg noodles, but now it's just the chicken and veggie. I usually throw in some garlic or Italian seasoning or mix it up with other spices (it's nice with a Greek seasoning blend). I've put chopped (canned) tomatoes in there too. Just have it in the crockpot until it's cooked through and then shred. I usually add the peppers a bit later because I like them kind of crisp. I rarely make things the same each time But the basics are the chicken, butter and fresh lemon juice!

G'morning all!

LOL. That's def my face after my first sip of coffee. Jen, snow in May? Sounds cool!

We had a rude awakening last night by our bedroom smoke detector. It wasn't one of those annoying beeps when it signals low battery, but around 2:00 am just started a jarring continuous sound that got us out of bed including Luna barking her head off. There was no fire or smoke. It stopped after about 90 seconds so we went back to bed. About half an hr later it started again. DH got so pissed that just took the whole thing down. In the middle of this commotion Luna was trying to protect us from the mean fire detector by barking at the ceiling. Will check today what's wrong with the thing. Nothing more fun than waking up scared that the house is on fire.

QOTD: living La vida loca, because what is more relatable to my life? And because it makes me dance no matter what mood I'm in. I usually don't go to karaoke, but 6-7 years ago we were at a ski resort in the Alps in Italy. At night they had a sort of family karaoke. When the organizers realized they had an American surfer in the group, they put surfing USA on the screen and DH & DS got up there to sing it. I was in tears I was laughing so much; DH was really into it and DS just wanted to die on stage. What warmed my heart was all the Italians with their Italian accents trying to sing along.

My meals yesterday :

  • Coffee
  • PP slushy (too warm to eat anything)
  • Jello, chomp stick, epic chicken
  • Hb eggs & tuna
  • E: cardio + weight (still limping around from the hike)

Happy Taco Tue!

Several weeks ago our fire alarms started that nonsense in the middle of the night. We changed all the batteries which temporarily solved the problem. Then it restarted so I took them all down on the main floor. We purchased new fire detectors since they were 16 years old (told to change every 10). So far we are golden.

hi all I've been away a few days.

QOTD: probably barracuda by Heart, or Pat Benatar.

food has been ok, i made NY strip last night, sous vide first then seared. I wish i had done differently, i have no true grill so ended up making due. I'm cautious about bears and grills

tonight we are having dinner for breakfast- eggs, bacon and cauli hasbrowns.

one of my best friends and my nephew are huge into using the sous vide but I am very intimidated by it. I don't blame you about the bear/grill caution, I'm sure that would be like catnip to them!
