Good mornin everyone.

crappy weekend and so far a crappy feeling day. Oh well. My incisions are hurting. I want these staples out now! I mean this second! BUT I have to wait until the 24th. Ugh. I know they are going to hurt big time coming out then...especially the ones on my side. It's super angry looking.

No big plans for the day. I might work on little chainmaille projects. I did some over the weekend. I'll post pics at the end.

QOTD: I tend to donate when I can but haven't volunteered since my back got really messed up. I can't do a ton of donating but I do when I have extra.

food is totally unplanned.

Those are all beautiful. I know your doctor says do not do anything to your incisions but if it is unbearable and you have some Aquaphor I would rub a bit on there. It will help with healing and cut down on the dry skin. I did it to all my incisions and the docs are always surprised how great a healer I am. It is an option if you do not mind being defiant.

G'morning all!

QJB - you and my son are on the same schedule school wise. So I tell you what I told him: study hard and make good choices!

The weekend was wet but manageable. We went to see Annie (the musical). It was nice to be distracted for about 2.5 hours not thinking about rain and the damage it's causing. The cast was great and our seats were in a great spot. Our show had two hearing impaired translators, very interesting watching them interpret the musical. This shows my ignorance but I had never thought that somebody who is hearing impaired would go to a musical. I had seen the interpreters at concerts and I assumed non hearing people would feel the vibration of the music, but stupidly never thought they would also go to musicals. On the way back there were too many close calls with mudslides. There was barely a shoulder on the side because the mountain keeps sliding down, in certain places they had put 90° iron poles into the belly of the mountain to hold it up. We just kept praying to get on the other side before another mudslide shuts down the road.

QOTD: funny you ask. Last Fri I volunteered at a shelter for people displaced due to the storm and flooding. I had stopped by on Thu evening to drop off few sleeping bags; in passing I asked if they needed more volunteers and they jumped at it. Fri morning 6:00 am I reported for duty. I was mostly in the kitchen making sandwiches or chopping food for various soups going on. It broke my heart seeing so many people whose houses were flooded.

My meals yesterday:

  • Coffee + Barebells bar
  • Chicken wrap (didn't eat most of the wrap)
  • Made a HP/LC cookie from a tiktok I had seen and it was DISGUSTING
  • Cold cuts and cheese
  • E: rest day

Happy MLK day!
