Reactive Hypoglycemia

Hi! I haven't been on this forum for several years but am doing great! I developed "reactive hypoglycemia" after my RNY in 2008. I could barely have any carbs without my body making too much insulin causing a blood sugar crash. I finally got a continuous glucose monitor and discovered that I was having critically low blood sugar levels during the night most nights. My doctor did some research and started me on Diazoxide. After a dosage adjustment, I haven't had a problem in a few months! I have been able to eat normally and enjoyed my first gelato while in Italy!! Fruits are back in my diet and it's fantastic!

Maybe this can help someone else having the same issues!

It's good to see you doing well. Thanks for the info.

I don't have problems with small amounts of sugar, but if I go too far, I get a boutique of RH. Ice cream is the worst -- I can have about 3 bites, but I deeply regret it if I have more.
