Good morning QJB and menuers,

Glad your class went so well! Not so glad about the consequences for your hands. I hope the cream helped.

QOTD- Kayaking and being out on the water. Followed by hiking and backcountry camping.

Okay, my everything hurts. I was out working the burn pile from 9:15 till after sundown. Everything in it, plus the two woodpiles I worked through, have been there for years. Some of the wood was so rotted it was basically dirt. Felt like a cross-fitter with some of the wood flipping and such. Glad I put together some newer wood to keep it going until the deeper mess caught. It was a long day, and while my boots are great at keeping my feet safe, they have no support. It's been a total body thrashing but glad for the progress.

I found some Winchester shells and a buried trash can lid in the pasture. There were also good lessons about how much less I can manage up hills in a wheelbarrow. Even after the strength versus size revelations it was eye opening. So much body work to do!

Work from home most of this week, if not all of it. Boss is on PTO and all the execs are out of the country. Glad this is a flex week.

Accountability- I'm an idiot. Didn't initially take water out with me and kinda crashed four hours in. Started making up for lack of food and water. Didn't eat salmon but ate everything else from yesterday, then some keto bread for good measure.

Exercise - I'll try the treadmill for movement. Maybe recumbent bike. Depends on muscles cooperating.

Menu - Scrambled eggs and salmon, chicken pot pie stew, corned beef and veg, Thai chicken x2, blueberries. Working through leftovers.

Have a good Monday, everyone!

Thanks! It's all related to just a lot of physical activity, so I don't mind creaking and cracking my way through it. Just taking it a bit easy. I actually like being sore since it means I've been using my body! Probably in the minority, there!

Hey just wanted to let you know I just brown my pork loin on the grill for a char then I put it in the crockpot. I add 1 dry French onion should packet and this time I used a jar of no sugar added apple butter. It was lovely. Sometimes I use a can of cranberry sauce and it is great as well. Always 8 hours on low or 4 hours on high seems to work best.

Yay, thank you for the update! That does sound delicious and I know there's a jar of cracker barrel apple butter in my pantry. Could be something to try!

That sounds like hard work but such an accomplishment. Who needs exercise when you have yard work to do?

Very rewarding in my book!

Based on everything I've read there's a huge difference between gym-strong and life-strong since most standard gym activities condition muscles very specifically. I'll absolutely lift weights and work out but totally jump on any chance for the real life equivalent. Yard work around here involves a lot of heavy lifting and sweating, so I'll always count it!

Good morning and yay for monday! I woke up really early but didn't want to possibly wake up my guests so I read in bed for a couple of hours and then got up and did my elliptical so I am ready for the work week to begin.

Had a great weekend with the family and only have a moderately busy social week ahead so should be able to stay on top of everything.

QOTD - I like to hike, I like to do the inclines around the area, and outdoor concerts are so fun.

menu today

coffee plus half and half X2

English muffin with pb or with an egg

cheese and corned beef

left over Korean chicken

Have a great day everyone!

Red Rocks is definitely on our to do list for this summer. I can't believe that DS will be a Senior in 6 weeks. We would like to get to Rocky Mountain National Park, Red Rocks and Coors Field before he graduates.
