I find I do so well during the week with my eating on plan.. the designated break times really do wonders for me.. but on weekends not so good! Need to focus on weekends. My cricut came Friday.. so I spent the weekend figuring it out.. design space isn't the most user friendly program I've tried.. but practice makes perfect! This is what I made!

I'm wearing it to work today.. maybe if people see my name more often they'll spell it other ;)

it snowed here overnight.. looks to be a decent amount... shall have to account for brushing my car off before I leave!

my cricut hasn't arrived yet.. hoping today! Everything else has come though.. so if it comes I'll have a weekend of crafting ahead of me!

QOTD: I got a new phone and it now has a blue case vs a black case.. and I'm consistently misplacing it now. I used to lose my keys all the time but now I have a routine where I come in the door and immediately put them on the rack...

my cricut accessories came yesterday but the machine still hasn't arrived. I can't wait! I hope it comes today or tomorrow..

QOTD: I always buy the 2% liberte plain.. we use it as both yogurt and a sub for sour cream. I usually add protein powder, or PB and a bit of stevia and berries when I eat it sweet. When I was in Turks and Caicos I tried the light and fit stuff .. and I loved it and I wi**** was available in Canada!

It's good. I've technically worked here since July.. but now I'm full time.. we are short staffed and busy. All the patients have COVID.. I spend 90% of my day in an N95 scanning very sick people.. it's sad and unfortunate.. but it'll get better. I know it will!

The scale isn't being friendly this week and it's really got me down in the dumps. I've been trying to stay away from it.. but alas it calls to me. As of tomorrow my province has mandated gyms be closed (hello lockdown 10,000) .. so I guess I'll go back to doing yoga at home... and really focusing on my diet.

Good Morning!

I started the day off with a shoulders/tricep/chest workout.. felt great. Now I'm meal prepping for the week.. my 'full time' line begins Tuesday.. but I work today afternoon shift. It's weird for me - I've worked two part time jobs for the last 5 years and while I worked (more than) full time hours - it's weird not being in control of my schedule (as a FT I can't say I'm 'not available') .. but working a pre-planned schedule with no short turn around is going to be nice.. I think..

QOTD: I really want to focus on developing and evolving my hobbies this year.. I'd like to work a lot more on my crafts and read more this year

I did buy a cricut maker and a heat press.. both should be here sometime this week. Woohoo!

QOTD: not resolutions.. but these are my areas of focus

  1. hydration (64oz a day, minimum)
  2. consistency with the gym (4-5 days per week)
  3. saying 'no' (no to extra hours, or things that I just don't want to do)
  4. be better with money (buy less clothing and be mindful of food waste, create another 'emergency fund')
  5. Ideally, I'd like to shed another 10lbs in 2022 and keep all of it off.

This week is bittersweet while I say goodbye to the people I've worked with.. my decision to leave has totally been solidified by management and that makes me feel good.

QOTD: Nespresso! After arguing with them to get a replacement machine (again) the one they sent me sounds like a jet engine when making a coffee.. my goal for tonight is to forward them a video as it's not supposed to sound like that.. I know, this is machine 3.

this Christmas was my first Christmas post op where I didn't have any food limitations.. and while I indulged I still managed to keep portions small and made sure to reach my protein goal daily.. little to say the scale is the same and that's all I could really hope for! My goal going forward I think is to lose approx 5-10 more lbs and see where that leaves me.

im considering getting a cricut.. fellow crafters.. should I?

Good Morning!

I might almost be done at this job (4 shifts left) but the way we are dropping like flies with this new variant it means I've been busting my ass short staffed to make sure we can still provide our vital service to the community.. I hope the people on call this weekend remain healthy as I personally don't want to be on call.. but one does what one must do!! I understand that people are realizing that this new variant is less severe - however it is highly transmissible.. and if you get sick you have to stay home. We are a group of 9 and 3 of them are off now for the next 14 days and 3 of us leave (two of us to new jobs, one going on mat leave).. it's the same in other departments.. the crisis continues. I stress baked more whipped shortbread and snickerdoodles to give away to people last night.. baking calms my anxiety.

QOTD: I have. My dad made sure to teach me

how to change a tire, oil and breaks on a car. I've always paid for road side assistance as an adult.. as I think it's worth it not to have to change a tire on the side of the highway..

Good Morning!

ugh! This weekend was rough.. starting Thursday I wa**** with a wave of absolute exhaustion.. I was at the gym and I was 2/5 of the way into my workout and I got so short of breath.. so I stopped and went home. I then was just so flippin tired.. like sleeping 18 hours a day and resting the other part.. I went and got a COVID test yesterday (negative! Thank god.. perk of being staff = walk in apts and quick test results).. but now im concerned that my vitamin levels may be off.. so I'm upping the ante and making sure I take them everyday and really focusing on nutrition.

QOTD: no, wish my parents pushed me to be more active.

Good Morning!

We got home from vacation last night.. while I miss the heat it was nice to sleep in my own bed! We had an absolutely beautiful time and I would not hesitate to return to Turks and Caicos Islands! The boyfriend was selected for a COVID test in the airport - so he has to quarantine until he gets the results back (makes no sense lol) so I'm going to the store to get food and all the essentials we need for the week. I go back to work Wednesday. While I was away much happened work wise.. one of the techs I work with at one job put in his notice & I'm next in line for a full time job there.. and I was offered a full time line at my other job as well.. so I have some important decisions to make today!

being honest here - I am proud at how good I did eating on Vacation. We prepared most of our own meals and when we ate out I made appropriate choices.. even so I'm terrified to step on the scale today!

Happy Friyay!

Today is my last day of work before vacation! I got my - COVID test last night, and applied for our travel authorization.. we are approved and good to go! We leave Sunday AM! We do have to do a test to come back into Canada, 72 hours before.. and one when we land in Toronto & have to quarantine till we get the results (new rules) but we are going regardless.

I feel like I'm being breadcrumbed.. that new opportunity was supposed to start this week, but they pushed it to next week as they still haven't interviewed everyone/made a selection of candidates.. the moment I give up hope they feed me another bread crumb.. hoping this leads somewhere but in my heart I feel that it won't. Good news though, at this time next week I'll be waking up on an island where it's not -5 outside..
