Has anyone had Lap-Band surgery?

Has anyone had Lap-Band surgery? Everything I read on here is about the other surgeries. I went to a seminar on Lap-Band and this is the way I want to go. I've heard that BCBS won't pay for this one because they say it's experimental. Has anyone else tried getting approved for this one? Kay G

Hey Kay, I too have BCBS and just contacted them today about the Lap-Band. They told me NO, they only cover gastric bypass. I too was bummed and can not afford to do a self pay so it now looks like I'm heading down the road to a bypass. Good luck to you and best wishes. Tonya
