Last night was a lot of fun.  I took my first little 'step' toward becoming my own little bu sines.  I spent the past 2 days baking up a storm and used the resiting goodies at concessions at a belly dance recital in Dallas.  I charged $2 apiece for the scones and the cupcakes and the cookies were 2 for $1.  I ended up selling almost $90 worth of stuff.  It was the first time for 2 things.  1) it was the first time I've ever charged money for anything I've ever prepaired and 2) it was the first time I prepared food for mostly "strangers".  Any time I've cooked or baked in the past it has been for friends.

Today I have a friend coming over to work on some sewing stuff after a trip into Dallas to make a run to the fabric district.  YAY!

that is wonderful about selling your goodies.  There is a place near where I live called Jilly's Cupcakes.  That is all they sell.  Dont worry folks I have NOT been there, but only seen one friend talk about them on FB.  Maybe your business will be called AzurePenguins Cupcakes & Scones!!!  By the way, Good Luck!!!

Good morning. Im hanging at the house and doing some cleaning in the kitchen today. This is my last deep cleaning day for the summer and I'm sure happy about that. I'm cleaning the cabinets today. Hope everyone has a good Saturday.

Prayers needed for me and my family this AM.    I am beginning to wonder if things will EVER get better.    Let's just say when I went into my middle son's room this AM I found somethings that should NOT have been there and he lied ( even though he swore he was telling the truth ,....I know better) about it.   I guess he thinks I am STUPID !!!   UGH !!!  I told him that if he didn't want to end up living in the streets he was going to straighten up.    I can't take much more of this crap.    I am crying all the time.    Why do kids do this to themselves.     Seems like after what when on that sunday he would stop !!!  I may never understand it.   Sorry to dump this on you.   I am just hurting so much right now and his lying will stop or he will NOT live in my home.   Prayers needed please.

Viv, I know it has to be hard. Take everything out of the room but his clothes and the bed, then take the door off the hinges. He will still have a room, just not privacy to hide things or what he is doing. You will still be providing him food and shelter in a safe environment.

 Thanks for the advice Karla.   I will talk to my husband about that.    I am just dying inside !!!  If he knew what all this was doing to me...don't know that he would do it.    Just please keep us in your prayers.     Kids die withdrawing from drugs and we are parents who don't do anything like that at all and are really stupid when it comes to drug abuse.   I know that God is going to help me get through all this pain but at this moment I feel as though my heart has gone through a shredder.

Yesterday was my 'travel' day for vacation.  It RAINED on me most of the trip...anywhere from light sprinkling to HARD rain...but not completely blinding rain.  When I got to the hotel, I completely unpacked my car, emptied my luggage, and got all settled in.

Last night I went to one of the casinos that I had not been to in the past.  I tried a couple of slot machines, lost $$ (less than $50), went to the buffet (dungeness crabs, cold boiled shrimp (spicy), and a few fried shrimp (too spicy).  Afterwards, went to play blackjack...bought in for $100, got serious down, but when I walked away from the table, I had $235 to cash out (after some customary tipping).  Since it was the first time for me to play here, the slot losses I had I will get back as 'free play' to be used in the next 7 days...yeppers, I will be going back.  Last night was a 'very good' night.

This afternoon I am meeting my realtor, and we are going house looking.  This will let me know what is in the area should I get a job offer from one of my interviews.  Oh, I cant wait!!!

Yesterday Bryan and I spent time with his dad, and all the funeral plans are in place except the minister. That's been a long story as he is out of town and the person filling in for him couldn't meet until this morning. So he and his dad and sister are headed there right now. All the other details have been planned.

We found out yesterday that her cause of death was listed as Coronary Artery Disease. Noone knew she was having heart problems. She'd been slowing down more and sleeping more but she had Alzheimers and bone marrow cancer so we attriubuted it to that.

The viewing will be Monday from 6-8pm Monday night. Here is the information and her obit:

Bryan needed some normalcy and distraction away from all of this so we went to dinner last night at Saltgrass with my family-adults only. It was nice. Chris seems to be doing okay with everything. It will be the first funeral he's been to ever.
