wow just heard my doctor is leafing the hospital I had my weight loss surgery at. I am so depressed I though of not even caring now how much I loose or what I eat or do now.

But my husband talked to me and said I could go where is is going or moving to. That I will find him and just switch to that hospital.

Has anyone done this has any ones doctor moved after they had there surgery and if so what did you do???.
My surgeon gave me the tool. Now it is up to me to use it right.

I'm a pre-op, so my opinion might not mean much, LOL.

My surgeon only manages post-op care for 1 year, and then sends us off to our primary doctors after that. For anyone who moves, he asks that they just go to their primary doctor, and then still submit updates yearly (photos, weight, etc).

If he's close and you feel better by following, I say go for it! If not, though, take comfort knowing that you're only 2 mos away from your 1 year surgiversary, and may not need to see him much anyway.

A yearly card/update/photos would probably be much appreciated!

I wanted him to do my tummy tuck. He is such a good doctor hate to loose him. I think he will be only 30 minutes away well worth the trip.

Honestly, I didn't have a ton of contact with my surgeon post-surgery.  I went to the follow-up visits but basically I did this on my own.

But I agree with your hubby -- if it's important to be in contact with your doc, then just do it!

I didn't realize there were doctors who did both a VSG and  tummy tuck.  I just figured a bariatric surgeon does the VSG and a plastic surgeon does the tummy tuck.  Two different areas of surgery.  Oh well, shows what I know!

30 minutes is a no brainer !!!!

I travel between 5 minutes to one hour to attend support groups put on by my surgoen at three different locations.

You'll be fine!

I hope he is going where I think he is. The office staff told me they have no idea where he is going and he will not tell me because of legal things. I hope I can find him.

I would assume you could find him through your insurance company.

I had the opposite problem. My doc moved from my county to a different county 45 minutes away before my surgery, sucked, but I followed her. Glad I did.

Hang in there dear

I do not know why doctors have to do this to  us. they change our lives so much than just up and move to a different hospital.
