Hi everyone. It has been since 2007 when I had my lap band that I have posted. I did really well and then three years out I started gaining again. I had a bad riding accident and thought that all the pain I have had since then was due to the fall and not so much my band. After readin all the posts I have found that lots of people are having the same issues as I am.
So, I am having it removed and a sleeve done on June 13th. YAY!!!! Wish me luck! I cant wait to start feeling better again!

VERY happy for you!  I'm only 10 days out, and I can already tell that life will be SO much better with the sleeve than the band.
Good luck,
Jenn

I had the band for 5 years and suffered the entire time. Finally, after throwing up so much that I got dehydrated and became anemic, I told my surgeon to remove it. I waited about 8 months then went in for the sleeve. I absolutely love it. No sickness, just restriction. Life is good!!!

I had my lap band done in 2006.  Did well for a while but plateau'd at 197 for months.  Then tweeked here and there and lost approximately 55 lbs only to gain about 20 back along with getting reflux and a hiatal hernia.

I am in the process of my nutritional guidance appts (last one this month), then they can submit to my insurance.  Looking forward to a change.
