Not about weight loss but I am scared of this( for women)

Thank you so much for all of you and the kind words. I know by putting this out there I would feel better about things . I am just a chicken I guess lol. Remove 85% of my stomach and it did not bother me. I guess I wanted the weight loss surgery and never worried about any problems.

I wish they would do this surgery now so I do not have time to sit here and think about this.

Wow I had my out vaginally.  I told her while she was in there to tighten that baby up hahahahahahahhahahahah   NO regrets oh i will say my ******s sucked for a time but they came back ok.

oh oh and i have to say it was a totally painless surgery.  easy peasy and i too kept my overies but later had the left one out. now im in menopause and i need hormones.

ohh you know how to make make a hormone?

I had to postpone my VSG due to an immediate need for a hysterectomy.  I had everything removed except one ovary and it was done with the DaVinci robot (recovery time is 2-3 weeks vs. 6-8 weeks with open incision).  I walked to the car the same day.  That was truly the easiest surgery I've ever had (also had a rather easy c-section and an open myomectomy).  I walked around my house like nothing had happened that night and the next day. I required no narcotic pain meds after leaving the hospital.  Honestly, the only pain I ever really felt with that surgery was during the first 4 hours in recovery and after recovery. 

Please do yourself a favor and check into the robot.  If your surgeon doesn't have the skillset, there may be someone else in the group who does.

 My surgeon will be using the DaVinci robot. so are you saying you did not stay in the hospital that night did you just go home after the surgery?

 yes, same day, about 8 hrs later.  the surgeon told me i could stay if i felt i needed to but i really didnt feel so bad after the first 4-5 hrs.

 Okay… so confession time. I am 30… after my last son was born in May of 2009 i didn't have periods, probably because I was breast feeding. When they came back around 10 months later, they were bizarre. I spot for well over a full week, then bleed like Im dying for over a week. I am bleeding over half the month. Some months I have two full periods. I have had short easy periods all my life up till 2009 (pre op VSG) so I know its not the WLS. I am scheduled for a tummy tuck on the 11th. I have seen my OB, she says the pap is normal but wanted to do an ultrasound but I just have never made time to go in. Do these symptoms sound like something I could be looking at needing surgery for???? Id hate to have another abdominal surgery after the TT. From all your responses it sounds like you're gonna do great and be happy you had this done. Thanks for any help/ advice you can give me. So calling my OB tomorrow. You're gonna do great!

 My surgeon told me to see the Ob before he would do a TT because if I need to have a hysterectomy  it would be better now than later. My PCP told me to see the OB to find out why I bleed so much on and off all month now i have been going for a week. 

My PCP said have the hysterectomy  before the TT because if I had it after I could have loose skin again so if I were you I would see your OB first. My pap came back normal also.

My VSG was done on 7/19/10 and I have to wait till 1/2012 to have my TT. My surgeon wants me to wait 18 months out so I can be as little as i can get. He does not want me to loose any more weight after my TT.

l haven't had a hysterectomy, so l can't give you any feedback. BUT l can send tons of good wishes!!!  Where's your surgery at? l live in the UP now, but l'm a Detroit area girl.=)
