back from vacation and let's just say things did NOT go as planned!
We returned on Friday and I gained two pounds. Not really surprising as I was off plan the entire damn week! I know I suck and I'm not looking for sympathy. I'm 8 months post-op and this is the worse by far.
I lost it and caved. I ate ice cream, chips, carbs and more carbs. I forgot my tennis shoes so only walked two of the six days (actual exercise).
It's great being this far out because life is so normal as far as my ability to eat/drink. However, newbies (newer than me) take advantage of those first few months when you eat like a bird!! My portions are still small in comparison to pre-op but omg can I ever eat so much more now!!
My plan is to get back on track (60+ proteins/40 or less carbs/water, water, and more water/exercise daily****il I hit goal.
Wish me luck!

I hate to say this....but normal people gain a couple pounds on vacation, and take a couple weeks to lose it afterwards....and go on with life. So, I guess what I'm saying, is....maybe you are normal !!!
I'm sure it will come right off when you are back on track. I'm going on vacation next week, and I'm trying to prepare myself mentally for watching what I eat, and for getting in my exercise (camping, so it shouldn't be too hard !) but also if I gain, knowing that I can get right back on track...

Yes, the s'mores can get you !!! My approach is going to be to limit carbs as much as I can, and usually do; try to stick HARD to my healthy meals and leave some extra calories for those on the trail snacks (but I did get little packets of beef jerky!)of protein bars, fruit and nuts (packed single serving!)
Be that as it may, we will see how I fare !!!
