Drains???
Aww wish I had something like that. My stomach is bubbling and I keep burping, I'm guessing it's gas even though it's not coming out other side, sorry tmi lol. IN some pain didnt think it was as painful as it was for me considering I usually have a high tolerence for pain. Oh well taking my meds. I was able to down 4 1 oz. meds cups through out the hours today of liquids so I thought I was doing something. Now I'm home I went to take a drink and I felt it, it was like ohhh hell no so now like I should know sip sip sip. Thought I bipased the sippies, nope lol Kerry
I'm doing good. The Gas is the absoult worse thing I have been through. I am still full of it. Other than that the only pain I have is the pulling feeling in all my incisions and near my ribs on the left side. I feel really good though. I will be praying for your recovery to get better .

Glad to hear that you are doing better today. Did you sort those nurses out in your hospital? You had us all a bit worried! Every day does get a lot better. I can take much bigger sips now and have a lot more energy. Only issue is the incision pain where they took the drain out - be very grateful you didn't get one - it was seriously yuck having it taken out! You win some, you lose some aye?
Unfortunately, I had a JP drain after surgery. It's a disgusting plastic tube that snakes into your abdomen, all the way to your stomach, stapled at your incision and goes to a little plastic bulb that clips to your hospital gown. I had to wear one for three miserable days after surgery, and the tugging, sore, leaking, itching little piece of hell was the only major complaint I had about my hospital experience. It made walking uncomfortable and showering next to impossible, and its hole took forever to heal.
The drain is to get excess fluid out of your body after surgery. As some have said, some doctors prefer it and some don't. Mine seemed to think it was a good idea. It's still worth it for how great the sleeve is. But damn, F that drain.

I had a drain, and it was no big deal. I actually appreciated the fact that I could see what was going on in there, and know that there wasn't any infection brewing. I emptyed the drain twice a day, measured it, wrote it down for the doctor, and it didn't bother me one bit. Getting it pulled out was...momentarily uncomfortable, but really not a big deal.
