almost 9 months out and in such a funk!! (long)
I'm sorry for the downer post but I'm just not feeling it right now!
I've lost down to a # I haven't seen since right after high school (I'll be 40 in October). I have bones sticking out that I never knew existed (kwim?). I'm wearing a size 10 pants (from 22) and a large/med shirt (from 3x). I work out 5 days a week. I'm doing my first 5k September 18th. But.......
Just for kicks I decided to start checking my fasting bs again and guess what? It looks like I'm still headed for diabetes!! Numbers are always in the low 90's. Every. F'ing. Day. WTH!!!! How can this be?? I've lost nearly 100 pounds and exercise daily. Why? How? This is just wrong.
It also feels as if I will NEVER lose this last 15 pounds! Sweat my azz off, eat protein...protein...protein, drink enough water yet...NO damn wt loss! I literally have not lost any this month. I've bounced around the same 2-4 pounds all of August.
I'm just not feeling it. I'm in such a funk. Sigh.
Thanks for reading. ~Jennifer

I hear ya Paige, but I'll have to respectfully disagree. Truly a "normal" fasting should be under 88. Yes, I know 70-110 is "supposedly" normal. But, as a person who eats less than 40 carbs most days, low 90's fasting sucks!
Get this...one evening I ate some homemade granola (no not a good choice) and in the am I was well over 100. See the pattern? Not good.
Thanks for reading and all the best to you on your journey. ~Jennifer

Hi Jo. Yes, as I responded to Paige low 90's are "technically" wnl. However, if you know anything about diabetes this number is much too dang high for someone near a normal bmi who exercises frequently and eats few carbs/grains.
Just so you don't think I'm a crazy fool with zero knowledge, I've been a nurse for over 15 years.
Thanks for reading and you keep up the good work, my friend!

I can't comment on the bs because I'm not familiar with normal ranges, but from the other posters it sounds like things are probably ok.
I can comment about the long pause. It sucks. It happened to me. I didn't lose a thing for about 2 months. I bounced way the heck around for 2 months...up 2 pounds, down 4, up 5, etc etc etc. I was being SO good, exercising hard core (Bikram) 6 days a week, blah blah blah. Didn't freaking matter. and no, I wasn't losing inches either. My clothes were fitting the EXACT same. But you know what: it eventually broke 2 weeks ago. and now I'm 0.5 lb away from my surgeon's goal. Now, I'd like to go even lower, and I know I'm gonna be fighting for every freaking pound, but in the end, if I want it, I will make it happen.
and it will happen for you. Hang in there. Keep on doing what you are doing. We didn't get fat overnight. and losing 100lbs in this short amount of time is AMAZING. Don't lose sight of that!

Hi Michelle and thanks for the boost. It's just so hard to understand why no wt loss when busting your azz! Honestly, up until this month of absolutely no loss I really haven't let it bother me much. I've been reading here daily for over a year and understand the crazy stalls/slow wt loss/no wt loss. But for a damn month....wow! I must not give up. I don't want to be the one who doesn't make it to goal.
BTW, I think you look fab and have always enjoyed your responses. Your one of the "sane" VSG'ers when it comes to supplements!
