Do you guys eat Jerky????

 I was standing in line at store and just grabbed the diff packs and looked at the cal carb fat protein content and the protein is pretty high 1 has 14g in 3 pieces so I was wondering if any of you eat it, I thought it might be good snack.  Not for me know of course but further in future if I like it.  Preop I would of never considered touching it used to joke hubby saying it smelled like doggie treats lol. I am sitting here eating cottage cheese which I never thought I'd ever eat that either lol Kerry

When I was in weight loss.... I tried beef jerky...got hooked on it.....many swear by it.....

For me there were two weight loss stoppers......beef jerky and peanut butter.....

Proceed with caution.....

 Thanks Frisco   I have never tried it in past was just curious cause the content didn't seem bad and protein seemed good.  I may give a shot in future but def. want to drop as much weight as I  can in the honeymoon phase and don't want anything hindering that. Kerry

I eat a small piece at night when I get the munchies. (It is just so nice to chew something!!) So far, the jerkey has not caused me to stall or slowed my weightloss.

Yes, but you have to REALLY chew it very, very thoroughly, or you will regret it.  Chew it till it is almost liquid.

I makes a great snack, because as you say, it is VERY high in protein.

Just avoid the Terriaki versions, because thhey are also high in sugars.

 Yeah anyway to get extra protein in I'm willing to try lol.  I'll just have to wait a while,. not sure how long guess I can check with my Dr. on that.  I know now is too early since I still on liquids lol  Thanks, Kerry

I take it with me when I sell tickets at football games (High School).  I can't leave the ticket booth and it's easy to carry with and eat.  I also carry a single 1 oz package/stick in my purse as a "just in case."  When I was a week post-op I went shopping with my mom and got really really shaky/dizzy.  Not a fun feeling and I'm still scared to death of it happening again because I know that it's due to not eating/ low sugar (I was on a medicine at one time that caused this and when I told the doctor about it he had me quit the medicine immediately).

I keep a pack around. I usually carry it with me when I'm out and need something convenient and I cant bring my cooler. I eat about .5 oz at a time. My pack that had 3oz has lasted me a month so I don't eat much of it. It's tough on my tummy if I don't chew e heck out of it and the sodium is a little high otherwise I'd make it a regular.

I would just be concerned about the SODIUM content..and not chewing it well enough. Sodium=water wt gain

What is the sodium # on pkg?
