4 days after my sleeve...

Just have to say, 4 days out and.....  I AM SOOOOO HAPPY I DID THIS.  I am following every single rule, love my protein shakes, haven't had any pain meds in 24 hours, been taking a few bites here and there of greek yogurt but mainly mprotein shakes that taste JUST LIKE MC D"S frappes, recipe below.  In the mean time, I started my period this morning so I was sure to start my iron pills because my periods drain me.  I am so happy, not a thing has gone wrong, so blessed,  I dont have a scale here, I refuse, so 2 weeks post op I will give everyone my weight loss.  I lost 12 lbs or so on my pre surgery liquid diet I cheated on with.  I ate a few bites of grilled chicken every now and then to fill up and get energy :)  The surgeion couldn't tell, but 3 days before surgery I followed the diet as I was told to.  If any of you have questions, ask, but I covered it all.  When I woke in the hospital I was never sick, yay!  They put the thing behind me ear to prevent that.  Never really felt much pain.  The drain they took out before I left, never felt a thing, not at all.  So happy!

bEST PROTEIN SHAKE EVER:
(THIS WILL MAKE ABOUT 8-10 OZ)
1/2 CUP PROTEIN POWDER (i USE CHOCOLATE whey powder)
1 or 1/2 teasp of instant decaf FOLDERS coffee, yes, it must be this coffee, it has the BEST flavor
1/2 cup of crushed ice
1/3 cup skim milk

Blend it for 3 minutes make it SMOOTH

YUM!!!!!
Enjoy!

Yay for you!  So many of us have a pretty easy recovery.  Not to diminish the risks, or how hard it is on the folks who have problems.  I am 17 days out and very happy so far.

Good job, I am 1 week and not taking pain meds anymore either. Feeling very energetic and excited also. Your smoothie sounds good, but I am not a cofee shake lover and our office won't let us have any milk yet, but I avhe expiremented and found some yummy stuff too. Only one more week and then onto full liquids with milk so will be able to expirement more for another 2 weeks, then onto soft moist foods for 2 weeks then regular food Yay! Head hunger is bothering me, but I get over it pretty quickly. Glad you are feeling so well. My daughter stopped teh pain meds in the hosp second day after surgery so that is fantastic. You go girl!
I can do it, I can do it, chugga, chugga, chugga said the little train! Thank you Lord for giving me the strength!
