Getting nervous!
For the hospital - take lotion and lip balm, and a pair of shorts for walking the halls after surgery. Those were the 3 things I used in the hospital.
For home - sugar free popsicles. These are my go to when I need something tasty, the cold feels good on my stomach, and it counts towards my fluids intake. The first week I had at least one a day and kept me sane.
Best of luck!!!

I agree with the moisturizer and lip balm. However when my nurse saw my daily renewal blistex, she told me they don't like us to use products containing petroleum jelly? B/c it's flammable and your applying it right next to your oxygen tube. Lucky for my I had a different one that was more like a lotion than a balm.
I just had my surgery this past Tuesday... I packed more clothes than I needed, but glad I was prepared. The night of my surgery I put on pajama pants and a sports bra. It was much more comfortable than the oversized hospital gown that got in the way of everything! I also brought the non slip house socks, they fit much better than the ones the hospital provided. I had my own pillows, toiletries, sf breath mints, a book that I didn't read, and my own supply of smar****er.
I know you'll be feeling anxious or nervous, but I promise you won't even remember going under... I vaguely remember the 3 hours post op. I keep seeing ppl post about sipping water every 15 mins... I was taking in a half ounce to an ounce every 3 mins (used my timer on my phone to remind me to sip) if I started to feel pain at my incision sites I called for more meds, the burping was/is painful and they gave meds for that too. Take advantage of every moment in the hospital b/c it's not the same at home! I will also say that the pain has been very tolerable... I told someone today I can gauge my progress by how well I can wipe myself after peeing (maybe tmi) but it's getting easier!
Anyway I've completely rambled... Good luck!
