HOME and SLEEVED!
Everything went really well . The first day l was so loopy and wondered what l was thinking. Yesterday was better - lots of gas pain. Today was so much better - especially after they took out the drain! My back hurts like a mother and l can't get comfortable, but it's getting better all the time. Gotta go - go****er to drink;)
I'm getting ready to have my gastric sleave and Im so scared. I'm having Oct 12. Unfortunatelly there
is no literature for me specfically in the way for the operation I'm having since It's so new in the area I live. I go to support groups and classes, but they only cover the bypass and lap band procedure.
If there is any info or insight you may have about the sucsess and after care, ie what to expect, any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

First, if you scroll up to the right of the original post you'll find some information - look for a box above the side ads that says "Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy Information" and click on the links.
We have a lot of people on this board who've lost ALL their excess weight. Most have followed a low-carb, hi protein eating plan after surgery (you do build up to that - no-one can eat 600-800 calories immediately post-op):
70 grams of protein (80 for men)
less than 40 grams of carbs
600-800 calories
64+ oz of liquid
Exercise
Most of us need protein supplements to achieve the protein levels - I'm almost 6 months out and I still drink protein shakes. Luckily, I like them.
Please feel free to message me with any questions or post them here. I'm happy to help.

Congrats to you! l did weigh - l was up a couple when l first got home, and then l weighed just now (almost 4 hrs later) and l was down to my pre-op. Crazy!! l also got the wonderful surprise of my period. That's not uncommon, l know, but... really?! ls there not enough going on in there?! lol!! At least l didn't have to worry about the pms eatting this month.
Congrats - how are you feeling?

Thank you!! Yeah, today l can definitely say that my back hurts more than anything. Trying to sleep sitting up on the couch is still better than the hospital bed, but l wish l could go to my chiro today. ;)
My incisions don't bother me much, they just feel tight.
Yes, please make room for me! l've lost 5 lbs since surgery!!
