OT: Horrible Car Accident
I'm so sorry you had to go thru this. I was a Sheriff's office dispatcher and 911 operator for years. What you are in need of and have sought out on your own is called a "Critical Debriefing" which people in law enforcement and fire seek out within usually 48 hours of a critical incident like a shooting, child death, accident, fire with lives lost or serious injury. Sometimes the accused pleads out and you won't have to appear so there is always that hope. I would thank you for your efforts to lend a hand for this police officer. He has given his life in the safety and protection of the citizen and his loss will be great.

There is a quick link to the story, if any one wants to read it. Apparently he has been arrested before. I just pray for the officers family and friends, that they are able to deal with the pain this person brought upon them.

Therapy sounds like a fantastic idea. That is a truly horrific thing to witness and having your own mortality thrown in your face is no joke. (((HUGS)))

First let me say how much I admire your courage for: witnessing and assisting the officer; for recognizing how this will affect YOUR healthy eating plan AND getting therapy to deal with it.. and lastly for coming HERE to process this trauma and get support.
TRY really hard not to go into the future..or it will make you nuts. The could've shouldves have not happened.. so do not make it happen in your head ok?
Yes write down as much as you can remember and do not speculate. Do not worry NOW about what you may or may not have to testify..as that has not happened yet has it?
YOU have control over your thoughts and with prayers, and utilizing your faith you WILL get through this.
Remember whatever you are going through, think of the family of this officer. Remember him.. continue to honor him as you have already.
HUGS my dear~ Jan

Hon what is happening is you are in Post Traumtic Stress Disorder, this happens anytime someone is involved in a traumatic event. It's wonderful that you are seeing your therapist it's very important to continue seeing the therapist until you feel better. PTSD can last a long time so don't expect it to go away in 1 or 2 sessions. Be extra kind to yourself and don't take on anything too stressful for awhile. You'll come out the other side but it may take a bit of time. Hang in there and stay strong!
Hello,
I don't know if this will help. I've learn to start telling people my testimony and allow people to learn from it. Here it goes....
I was in a bad car accident (passenger) about a year & half ago in March . My friend & I was driving home from a party. Yes, he was drinking, but he wasn't drunk. Now, I know regardless of someone drinking you still take the wheel. Anyhoo, We ran into a pole. He sustained just a broken ankle, While I broke my hip, pelvis, leg, knee and wrist. I was in a coma for weeks, died and came back twice. I was in severe pain all day, had traction in my leg two different times for over a month, everyday I was in so much pain. Morfin wasnt working. All i was doing is having horrible hellucinations..
As of right now, I am doing better. I have my good days and my bad ones. Still in my wheelchair and walking with my walker. I need an Hip replacement, It'll take 18 hours to reconstruction of my HIP. But they won't do the surgery unless I lose weight. This is why I choose to do this VSG.
Sweetheart, everyone and I do mean everyone thats in my circle of friends & family and have heard of my story, from me going to the bank in my wheelchair, to the security of my library, schoo officials, people whom I use to see on the street everyday, my story has changed their life around. Sometimes God want us to witness things to change our life and get on the right path. Which is called a wake up call. For the Police Officer, my heart and prayers go out to his family. It was his time to go. But, not yours. You have to do whats right...
You're definately in my prayers,
Loveable...
