Thanks, I have bookmarked this post for those days when the scale doesn't move.  I am getting to goal slowly but surely and happy to do it.

Thank you I have been blaming a lot of different factors as to why I cannot exercise, eat right or why I have hit a self limiting/imposing plateau. I am going to print this and keep it right in front of me.  I am fighting myself and I am only 8 months post surgery, the honeymoon was over about 5 months after.  Thank You again

I've missed your posts.

Love the honesty.

We don't all have the same experience, but that should just be an even better motivation to all of us that the Sleeve works for thousands of different people with lots of "special" issues.

I agree, it all comes down to us making ourselves successful.

This came at the perfect time for me. Thanks.

OldMedic! I've missed your posts! I love your no nonsense style! It takes all kinds to make the world go round and some people just love that tough love approach. Mostly I'm inspired by the way, as you said, you had many things going against you yet you still are successful.

I also have a bunch of things working against me but I haven't stopped for even a day, working towards my goals. I long ago developed healthy eating habits, but never was able to control my portions until the sleeve; it was the one piece of the puzzle I needed.

I've passed up cake, cookies, favorite foods, desserts, free donuts at work and more. People don't understand how I do it sometimes. I say, I know I can't stop at just a small amount, period. I've tried so many times to use moderation, and I just had to accept my food addict brain doesn't handle moderation, and I have learned not to start up that cycle.

But also I always keep in mind that the enjoyment of the food is so short lived (five minutes the way I eat at most) but the regret and consequences of regaining weight and feeling bad about myself last MUCH longer.

Doing a cost/benefit analysis like that, I just remember how much it was not worth it in terms of time enjoyed. The other day I had creme brulee cheesecake available to me, while others ate it in front of me and told me how good it was and I abstained.

I just kept thinking about how much more I wanted to see 199 on the scale than the cheesecake. That was all I needed, and it was hard but I did it, and I was rewarded in a much longer lasting way. My happiness at my accomplishment has lasted much longer than a cheesecake 5 minute moment.

Omg. For 3 days this week I sat 10 feet away from 100 donuts for 4+ hours while everyone ate them for hours. One of the days I was extremely sick and needed to eat so bad and almost grabbed them 500 times. I figured a 1/4 wouldn't hurt. Somehow I stayed away. So hard... so, so hard! Sorry. Free donuts reminded me of that!
