First day of soft foods....
....and I feel like I just ate Thanksgiving dinner after eating 1/4 of a scrambled egg and a few bites off a Laughing Cow lite cheese wedge!!
Up until this point I had second guessed the size of my stomach. I thought to myself, yeah I'm sure you can't eat as much, but SURELY the people on this site are over exaggerating about only being able to eat a few bites/an ounce/etc!
Also, I had to go to traffic court today for a speeding ticket I got back in Jan, and my stomach would not shut up! It was so quiet in that courtroom and I was so embarassed!
Hope everyone is enjoying their day!

Yep. Poor tummy is still swollen. Your capacity will increase slowly. Mine leveled out about 3 months.
I am constantly admonishing my tummy to use its "indoor voice".

It's just weird. To think about the volume of food I used to be able to eat sickens me! I guess since I've never really succeeded at dieting (hence why I ended up having surgery), I sort of in the back of my mind didn't believe this was going to work either. The few people I've told that I had this have asked me what it's like and I don't know how to explain it besides saying "it's weird!". Ok, enough rambling!!
How long since the op. I am due to start blended stuff next week, after two weeks of only liquids.
Well done for your progress.
keep it up

Today was also my first day on soft foods. A scrambled egg never tasted so good, and I too, could not believe I could eat only 1/4-1/2. For dinner I puréed some split pea and ham soup I made... I about died and went to heaven! I only ate about 1/2 cup, and became overly full! Amazing!!!! Can't wait to experiment tomorrow!!!
That's how I felt yesterday when I started my first day of soft foods! I ate a slice if laughing cow too and my taste buds thanked me! I don't want to see anymore broth or soup for awhile! I was on a liquid diet for two weeks before surgery and two weeks after, my surgery was on March 28. Now it's soft food for two weeks. Blessings!
I felt the same way. Really, I was rather disappointed. Makes me wonder how small our tummies are!
My first food was sole. I had 1 oz, and it was way too much!
Lasat night I had 1/4 of an egg. It was fine.
Think about it though, how is this food going to sustain us? I guess we are forced to keep drinking protein drinks.
