Odd....

So, I just started tracking calories and stuff on MyFitnessPal again and I find it odd that my whole calorie count of the day is approximately 700-900 calories and before surgery I was hard pressed to keep it under 2,000.  Kinda puts everything in perspective of what junk I was putting into my body and now what good things I need to put into my body.

I certainly cringe when I think about all of the calories and carbs I would consume in one day, heck in one meal, pre-WLS!

It is amazing how quickly it adds up when you track it (I am pre-op).  I have told myself that I will write down every bite...good or bad.  I am now second thinking everything.  Right now 700-900 would be tough.  I am able to keep it around 1400.  Lord knows how high it was when I was in an "I don't care" mode.

Way back when.. I was semi-shocked to realize that my "healthier" choice at Arby's- the turkey & swiss "Market Fresh" sammy, yeah.. 700+cals, 70+ carbs.. just the sandwich alone. Just semi-shocked as I knew it was fast-food regardless of the lack of it being "fried." It was tastier than other stuff, but wow. I can only imagine if I had been tracking.. even on days where I didn't do drive through lunch.. hurts to think about. More than a day's intake in one sitting.. This is how I maintained 280lbs..

There was the day that I had a similar revelation about Ruby Tuesdays turkey portobello burger.. that was even worse, worse but tasty. IIRC it was fried too.. Never been back to RT, or for that matter Chi-Chi's, Fridays or any of those places.. nothing there, not even the chicken breast is safe, they inject those with a sugar-salt marinade to make them taste better..
