I think I know my head shrinker

I am scheduled for a meeting with my NUT tomorrow and then my psych evaluation right after. When I was looking at my appoinment schedule I noticed that the person doing my psych evaluation had a familiar name. Turns out she is a parent at the same school as my daughter -- our girls are in the same grade. We've never spoken to eachother except for the friendly "hello" at school functions.
Is this weird? I'm not sure I'm comfortable with this. I know that healthcare laws prevent her from talking with anyone about our meeting but there's a certain ick-factor to it. Not sure if I should ask to reschedule with someone else or just go for it. I'm afraid that if I do ask to reschedule it may push my surgery date back even further.
Any advice?
Thanks!
Anna

If you know her personally than I would suggest calling your surgeon and letting them know. If you aren't comfortable than it won't be good for you! Just let them know you need another name. They shouldn't have any issue with that.

Call the coordinator and or whoever set this up and tell them that you know this woman, she is a parent at your child's school, and you aren't sure it's appropriate or comfortable for either of you. Also say you don't want to do anything to push back your surgery. See what they say.
If you keep the appointment, that's the first thing you should tell her! In a friendly way tell her that you're uncomfortable because you "know" each other slightly. I'm betting she will put you at ease.

Yeah - just get another person to handle this for you. You will feel SO much better that you did and I am sure it won't push back your surgery!!
Good luck!

So after thinking about it, I called my surgeon's office to see if I could schedule my pscyh eval with another doctor. They were very accommodating and understood my concerns. So I have an appointment 5/31 with a different doctor. Feel better now!
