Please tell me it gets better:(
I am three weeks sand two days out today! I am moving right along, only things setting me back and has me down a bit is that I cannot do the things I use to do so easily. I dont know if this is common, maybe I am trying to quick but I feel that my body is no where near as strong as it was before surgery. Walking through the grocery store for too long exhaust me right now & even showering for too long. It makes me feel really weak and sometimes shaky. Is this normal while your three weeks out?? Maybe because your body isnt getting nearly as much nutrients as before? and MAYBE I am am just expecting too much too soon?? I just hope I am not alone and that things will get better and I will be able to go back to my daily life with ease sometime soon? Is this gunna happen!? Does not help that I have been on my period since the day I left the hospital three weeks ago today :( I am taking my vitamins, trying my hardest to drink fluids enough & eating protein.

It's normal to feel that way after any major surgery. I haven't been sleeved yet, but I am 8 weeks postop from a two-level spinal fusion in my low back. I have a 5-6 in*****ision on my lower abdomen and a 4 in*****ision on my lower back, plus just the overall pain down my legs from having smashed nerves and stiffness in my back from all the metal gadgets they out in me. It's normal to want to hop right back into doing every day activities, but it is important to let your body rest. That feeling of fatigue is because your body is expending all its energy to heal itself. Try not to get discouraged or depressed, you'll be back to normal soon. And in a few weeks, you will feel like the time has flown by. That's how I feel. I'm finally feeling a little bit normal and now I'm getting ready to be sleeved. Guess I just love pain
congrats!!!!

It takes time. At the beginning, I was fine if I was sitting. When I'd stand or walk for more than a few minutes, it was like a shroud came over me and I had to rest. By the third week it was getting better, but still not to where it was prior to surgery. Each day I got more stamina back. Each one of us heals a little differently too, so our timelines of recovery are not the same. Just keep taking your vitamins and getting as much fluid and protein as you can, and you will continue to get stronger.
Completely and totally NORMAL. You are expecting too much to soon, then feeling disappointed when you aren't there. My level of fatigue did not jibe with the small little incisions on my stomach. But the whole process is so stressful to your body. People have really different reactions to anesthesia and it just knocks some people out. I fell asleep at my desk a couple of times after I went back to work. It gets so much better!!
