Shopping NSV this past weekend
As I may have mentioned several times I LOATHE clothes shopping. Or at least... I used to.
I'm starting a new job next week where I can't wear shorts and flip flops and ironic sci-fi t-shirts, so I went to Macy's. I optimistically tried on a few size 16's in the Petite department, but I'm not quite there yet, and they don't do 18.
So over to the Style & Co. women's area and w00t! I am a comfortable 16 jeans wearer! That's down from a somewhat constricting size 22.
I tried on a bunch of stuff. Rejected a few things, but didn't have an anxiety attack and realized that if it didn't fit it just wasn't the right style.
I also went to Target and tried on some stuff. Didn't find pants (nothing is short enough) but got some Merona (which usually fits small) sweaters in XL.
I am getting back into horseback riding so I went to a place called Horse Town and bought two pairs of jodhpur "tights". I did not cringe when I looked in the mirror at my legs encased in tight riding pants.
Two key phrases:
- I did not have an anxiety attack
- I did not cringe when looking at myself in the mirror
HUGE NSV's for me.
I'm still right at 201 lbs as of this morning, but I feel pretty zen about that. It'll happen.
