Wearing pants with a zipper and button

Hi everyone,

I hope everyone made it thru the temptations of Halloween. All of my leftover candy went to work with my hubby. Can't have that laying around!
I just wanted to make an observation. Prior to losing 140 lbs, I lived in sweat pants or any pant with an elastic waist. Now that I am wearing a size 4 (STILL can't believe it), all of my pants are jeans or form fitting pants. If I go up a pound or two, I can feel it immediately with my pants. Gets a little tougher to zip and button. With an elastic waist, it is so much easier to ignore weight gain.
I use this as a barometer of my weight status (in addition to weighing daily). It's much harder to ignore any gain when you can't zip your pants!
Just a thought for what it's worth

Congrats on your success!  I love reading your posts since we are in the same "decade" of age!  I like the pants barometer!  Take care!

This is exactly why I always give away my pants that are 1 size too big so there is no temptation to wear the bigger pants when the smaller ones are too tight.  Now that I am smaller (but not nearly as small as you) I can also feel my jeans & pants get snug with a few pounds in weight fluctuation.  It is definitely a sure way to keep me on track for sure.

You rock Marie!!!!

Jenn,

I do the same thing with clothes that become too big.  I donate them immediately to Good Will so there's no going back.  I REFUSE to spend money on BIGGER clothes!!   Love ya girlie  ((hugs))

Congratulations on your success ! Getting stretchy waist pants was my doom! I cannot wait until I can wear real pants again! It will serve me well to follow shagdls tip . Right now I cannot even imagine getting back into zipper pants. That will be a big day!!

Christina,

I felt the same way.  Wearing tight jeans with a zipper and button?  Me?  No way!!  But it WILL happen and it feels great.  I feel normal again, not someone who is being looked at and judged for my weight. Best of luck to you!

Surreal moment for me?  Weighing 7 lbs LESS than my 5' 7" tall, very thin, 18 year old daughter!  I'm having the same problem--I thought I was done at 128 but I kept losing.  Really don't want to lose anymore.  Gonna really have to up the calories.  Congrats on your success!!!

I remember the first time I tried on real non-stretchy waist zip and button jeans!  It was great I felt good in a size 14 now I'm down to an 8 and their kinda loose. I'm 7 months out and love it.   I have often wondered what happens when you real goal and keep losing weight.  It's funny to think we might have to eat more and/or up our calories to stop losing.  I never thought I would worry about losing to much weight.... LOL.
