I graduated with my Masters in Health Informatics 1.5 years ago.  The VA doesn't seem to eager to utilize me in this capacity, even though they paid to send me to school.  I am still in the ICU as a staff nurse.  I think I've seen enough poo and unhealthy habits to last a lifetime.  I want to use my degree.

Its just strangely liberating, even though I just sent out a few resumes...I feel like I have started something positive.  Also, tomorrow...I begin to exercise like I mean it.  I have been half assing it and this is why my scale isn't budging.

CHANGE is coming!!  Wish me luck!!

Good luck to you on both the new job and exercise fronts!  I applied for a Bariatric Patient Advocate position at the hospital I work for and am crossing my fingers that I hear something this week...

As an aside, I just love your posts.  We can do this!

^^^^Thanks KU!  Wish I had this as a job for my facility....perhaps I should create one...  My own bariatric support group for women and male vets!!!  That's a swell idea!  Best of luck that you get it!  You will be a wealth of info when you report your findings back to us after you rock that job!!!

Thanks to all for the well wishes!  I need to get my lazy ass in gear.

We are surgery sisters KU!  Only 3 days apart.  Add me as a friend!  We need to be friends.  And now you have me thinking I need to hit up for a federal grant for a bariatric facility  at my VA!

I think you should!  I don't know what kind of bariatric options some VAs offer but if it's a possibility, I say go for it.

I'll send you a friend request, too.  kiss

Way to kick off the new year. I'm also looking for a job after being laid off, so maybe we'll both have good things happening soon.

I know you'll be out there kicking butt!

With your attitude that I have seen on here I think you need to use that degree. You sound like an asset to the medical field. You can take care if me anytime.  yes

Thanks everyone!  (Bob, not everyone would agree with you I think!  It's hard to get a feel for ppl in the written word.  And I think some find me offensive because I just say what's on my mind.  I wonder if it would make any difference to know I was usually laughing, I am NOT a serious person and find laughter in everything.)
