Question about adding protein powder to soup..
VSG on 11/05/12
I'm too late, but I dissolve at room temp first, then gradually add the soup a little at a time so that it slowly tempers. Since boiling point of water is 212F at sea level, then you'd want to make sure you add only a small amount of the hot soup to your room temp soup/protein at a time, stirring constantly.
The hotter soup cools as you pour it in, and you are gradually warming the cooler soup/protein mixture. I've never had any clumping using this process.
BUT DO NOT PUT PROTEIN POWDER IN THE WHOLE BATCH! Just mix in the protein powder by serving! I made the mistake of reheating soup with protein powder in the microwave, and it wasn't pretty!
So, how did the soup come out?
