I need some ideas. What else can I eat (drink) that is not sweet. Have done unjury chicken soup. Any other ideas. Also is there an easy way to search previous posts on this sight?

I just made heated a can do Campbell's condensed chicken broth and added some egg whites to it when it boiled. It was delicious! I haven't tried the unjury broth yet but I imagine it would work. Mine wasn't that high in protein but its a nice snack if you've met your protein goals and just want something different.

I'm on day 8, and dealing with the same thing.  I made some miso soup.... I'm assuming its ok with the liquid diet.  It's basically broth.  But it has a little umami flavor to it.  I don't use it as a meal supplements... just something to break up the sweet flavor profile day after day, after day.....

Also, my NUT had what turned out to be a pretty good recipe for high protein pudding.  It's still sweet, but also a bit tart because of the items used.  I like it.

But I am right there with ya... I really want something tangy... or TEXTURE!!

Pre-op? When I was on full liquids pre-op I ate some of cambells gormet bisques. I ate tomato roasted garlic, butternut squash, sweet potato tomatillo (my personal fav).
Hope you can find something that works for you!

KetogenX vegetable Soup -- this is a Bariatric Advantage product, but made with pea protein rather than the whey. I think that some variety in the source of the protein helps to combat "the blahs". Two scoops is 21 g protein, and 3 g carbohydrate. A nice, mildly savory potato-y soup like consistency .Would not be suitable probably for clear liquids like the Unjury brand Chicken Soup would be, but my dietician gives it the thumbs-up otherwise. Delish with water, and really rather satisfying with hot milk, yum! Made with milk, it is the most yummy and satisfying protein that I have had so far during my liquids (I had to do 2 weeks preop, and I am now in the beginning of the last of a total of 4 weeks....) Makes a rather thick liquid...and it does not seem to have the same problem with clumping if water or milk is too hot, as it is with whey-based proteins. I recommend it! You can find it  at Bariatric Advantage website, and is also available at my surgeon's office. The container says two scoops per 8 ounces of liquid, but for me, just one scoop in 8 oz water -- or milk -- is  plenty...

Egg drop soup is in my plan. What about split pea soup?

My Dr suggested putting lentil or split pea soup in a blender during the full liquid stage.  When I went shopping for soup I saw Campbells had a soup called "Green Pea" that was a puree.  It's yummy just like split pea with no lumps and no blender needed.  I boosted the protein by adding Unjury chicken soup powder to it.  I found this soup at a Super Walmart and not at my regular grocery store so it may not be available everywhere.

I am on day 8 post-op and feeling terrific.  Looking forward to the puree stage though.

All the best to everyone,

Carol

I like Unjury chicken soup flavor. Tastes like Cup A Soup and has 21 grams of protein. You can bump it to 30 if you make it with warm skim milk.

Any soup, puréed and thinned to a consistency that'll go through a straw is "full fluids" unless you have the same surgeon I did. (I wasn't allowed meat, fish or poultry for 30 days)

Broth with cooked veggies and/or bean - puréed to the same consistency.

Try adding unflavoured whey powder. If you can get it down, great. If not, add the whey to coffee, tea, whatever, and drink your soups unadulterated.

Something my sis and I LOVED during full fluids was oatmeal puréed with hot milk, with some whey blended in. I remember it taking an hour to get down, but it was SO good! (I know that's sweet, but it was too yummy to not share)
