Was let out of the hospital in about 24 hours. Glad to be unhooked from all the tubes and monitors and being in my own house is helpful. My sister is going to take out the local pain pump in a little while. The doctor said it wouldn't be painful but then "not painful" to a doctor probably means I will scream for a little while.

If he said it was going to "mildly uncomfortable" he really means you will think you are dying. I guess they learn the art of understatement in medical school.

Trying to get my fluids in but every sip hurts when it hits my stomach. That should go away in a few days I expect.

All in all, I know the first week is the toughest but I am progressing and feeling better today. Yeah, I am sleeved.

That's great! Try to experiment with your fluids. Cold or even room temperature fluids hurt for me. Plain ho****er hurt, too. But ho****er with lemon and hot broth went down much more easily. :)

Totally agree with this!!!!! I was going to write the same thing. Even 7 months out, plain water feels heavier than water w/lemon.

Fantastic news.  It does get better every single day.  Hang in there and keep getting the fluids in.

Congrats! They took out my pain pump at the hospital and I remember it stinging, but not actually hurting. The sips are going to feel uncomfortable for a few days. It will get better! Keep up with your fluids. You're doing great!

Hang in there!  I'm 8 days out and feel great.  You see on this forum everyone saying it gets better everyday and it does.  I got cleared today from my doc to drink my fluids as I am comfortable.  I got in 16 oz in an hour and a half. Don't go too fast.   I'm not saying its a race but it does get much easier.

Good Luck!

The first few weeks are the toughest. My surgeon even warned me but get passed that & you are golden. Congrats on being sleeved!!!
