1 Year Out
I'm one year out. Had my follow up visit with the surgeon today so I thought I'd just post and say that the surgery has been the best thing to happen to me since my son was born and has been wonderful for me and my family.
While I'm still a big guy, I've lost between 112 & 115 lbs depending on when I weigh, and I'm still going to lose another 25 lbs or so. I can run up a flight of stairs and not be out of breath, wear clothes that I can buy anywhere, fit in airplane seats and participate in life in general.
While the surgery is a very personal choice, I would offer that I put it off for more than two years, and wish I would have done this 20 years ago. If I had to do it again I would claw my way to the front of the line.
Also, anyone new who is looking for answers or support, make sure to stay connected with this page. There are a lot of great people on here who are willing to share their unique experiences.
Thanks!
