Fresh Stevia

I planted some stevia in my garden this year. This morning I reached down, plucked a leaf, stuck it in my mouth and... WOW! What a rush of sweetness.

Now I can get a fix without too much guilt. There will probably be some study determining Stevia causes alien probing or something

how funny,yep they probably will, i need to plant some too...thanks for sharing,never thought of growing stevia....

I grew some in my garden a few years back an distilled it into a syrup. Pick the leaves and then steep them in a cup or two of clear alcohol like vodka for a few days until the liquid doesnt get any more green. Pull the leaves out, and pour the liquid into a saucepan. Reduce/simmer the liquid until the syrup is about the consistency of thin maple syrup. Put into a bottle with eyedropper and store in fridge! The first time i did this, i reduced too far and wound up with a mess in the pan, so be careful!

I'll definitely try that. I was gonna dry and grind the leaves. I may do both.
