Sleeve Clearences
Hello All,
I am new to this group and seeking to have the sleeve. I enjoy seeing the motivation and support on OH. I have finished up all of major clearances and submitted them to my surgeon even did a nasty Upper GI Series test yesterday. The last clearance of 6 month diet evaluation will be completed today. Next week all of my clearances will be sent to my insurance company for approval. I am super duper excited!!!
Everyone heals at different rates. I have a desk job and was back at work in 1 week (only because it was the holidays). I could have gone back sooner. I was Christmas shopping two days after surgery. I was tired but it was all manageable and didn't have to take any pain meds.
Some people need longer. It is all a guessing game. No physical lifting for 6-8 weeks. You should start walking immediately after surgery (when the nurses let you) and keep it up.
I run a nonprofit from home, and I found that on Day 5, I was back at the computer, answering emails and doing some critical tasks (mostly communication related). I was tired for weeks after surgery, and didn't have much energy, so you may want to factor that into your decision.
I wish you the best with your surgery, and hope you find it as smooth and rewarding as I have.
best wishes,
Carol

Honestly, if I was work at home I could have gone back to work 3 days post-op. I considered going back to my regular job early, but decided to just give myself the week I had planned. Then I ended up getting sick the next week and missed most of that at work. Total bummer, 'cause I don't get paid if I don't work. I had loads of energy the first week. I guess we're all different.
