Been somewhat sick since my barium swallow test! Anyone else have this issue??

Hey guys!! So I had my test done last Wednesday. Every since then I've been kinda suck to my stomach. I hardly have that much appetite and when I do eat I get sick. Today I wanted to get a head start on my liquid diet. So when I finally eat something it was dinner and I felt a little sick then. So I bought some new protein to try out and took one sick and major nausea. Which has still yet to pass. Anyone else have a hard time after their test?

It made me feel pretty gross. I was burpy and farty for about a day and a half. It can cause some wicked constipation, too. I'm surprised that the effects are lasting this long though. Maalox is perfectly safe if you need some... relief.

Yea I actually was called and told everything was approved by my insurance today. Surgery is August 21st!!! Excited and so nervous. This is my first surgery. And I have the biggest fear of anesthesia. Lol oh boy!

I felt really sick during it. I even told them I thought I would throw up and they didn't make me drink any more at the moment and finished quickly. Then since I was just starting my pre op diet I went n ate my "dinner meal" even though it was lunch time but I hadn't eaten at all by noon I was hungry. Good luck with ur upcoming surgery. Mines next Tuesday getting nervous!

Yea that stuff is just gross. And after swallowing those crystals I still have gassy issues. How did your pre oo diet go for you? And Tuesday that's exciting. Sending prayers your way!!

Yes this happened to me too!! I told my surgeon that I had a feeling I was gonna throw up during the leak test 1 day post op due to the solution I would need to drink and I did... My stomach didn't agree w/ it at all.... That was the only time I threw up post op and now I'm 13 months post op

I'm not sure what is in the solution but its nasty and it made me pretty sick for a day... Wish u luck

Me either!! My surgery is this Friday, but I didn't have to do a barium test pre op. I am having the RNY done not the sleeve. Ugh now I'm really not looking forward to the day after surgery!! But, I guess I'll make it through...
