48 hour Post Op
I was sleeved on Monday, September 9th. I am still in the hospital hoping to go home today. I wasn't getting enought fluids in. Today is a much better day. The gas pains have been excruciating and I am finally passing gas from the rear (I know TMI)..
Does anyone have any tips other than walking to help the gas to pass.? How long should I anticipate the gas lasting?

Hi - I had my surgery 8/28, and I will not forget those first few days. I had pain, gas would not pass and I had a hard time taking in any fluids. Just get yourself home and for 24 -48 hrs concentrate on nothing but getting in little sips of water. When you can have a protein drink take little sips out of a 1oz cup. I won't lie - for me it SUCKED - and I was scared. I thought I couldn't do it - BUT I DID! AND YOU WILL TOO! When you start getting the fluids in the gas will work its way out (among other things LOL)
If you are taking any pain killers also make sure you take colase. Once you work through the next few days you should feel much better!
