I have a dilemma!  I am having surgery tomorrow and just found out today a position that I applied to that would be a unit that I have been WAITING FOR LIKE FOREVER to transfer to wants to interview me next week on the 26th!  Is there anybody out there that felt up to it or had a situation like this?  I'm guessing it would be an hour or so interview and then I could go home but I don't know what to expect after surgery!  Help!

Physically I was fine after a week, but I was a bit fuzzy from the anesthesia still for a few weeks...but I'm sure you'll be fine!  Just don't be surprised if you feel fuzzy!! Good luck with everything

It can really depend on the person. I went to a four hour training session for work at one week out and did fine. Just depends!

Well, my situation was a little different, but I'll share my experience.  I had lapband surgery 4 years ago.  Actually had the surgery after I'd been laid off ( but still had insurance).  I got a call from a company I had applied to for an interview 5 days after surgery.  The job was 60 miles from home and I knew I couldn't drive, so I enlisted the help of a friend to drive me.  I did the interview, and I won't lie, it was a *****allenging, but I made it through, went back to my friends car and collapsed - napped most of the way home. BUT I got the job.

I'm now waiting to revise to a sleeve and hoping my recovery will be just as smooth.  Good luck!

I had a drain tube with a suction ball in until my first follow up appt. It would have been hard to hide.

I could have handled it, no problem.  Best of luck to you with the surgery and the interview!

I was fine for normal day to day operations/functions within a couple of days. I flew trans Atlantic 9 days after surgery. That was with a transfer also and I was fine. You will be OK for an interview. Good luck with both!

I was back to work 6 days after surgery. It won't be pleasant, but if you are complication free, you should be fine. Good luck!
