You're not doing anything wrong!  You had major surgery, and you're gonna be swollen for a week or two.  Trust me, you'll make up for it after that!  Make sure you're walking as much as you can and getting some naps in there too!

I think I gained 5-6 pounds the first week after surgery.  Towards the end of the first week I then started losing weight.  You were pumped full of fluids, gas and body went under major stress.  It will start dropping off really soon.  Good luck!

My weight was actually up slightly when I left the hospital, but the day I was released, and the next day, I was peeing constantly. I weighed after that, and was down. My body was getting rid of the excess fluid all at once. Yours might do that slower because of complications or just because you're more prone to water retention. You were in the hospital longer, so give yourself a break. And my surgeon said they expect only 5 lbs weight loss the first week, so you're right on track. Just because some people lose more doesn't mean you're behind.

I gained 12 pounds in the hospital.  It took me a couple of weeks to lose it, and then some.

Try to walk as much as possible , when  I was at home for the two weeks after surgery I walked 15 mins every two-three hours. I would set the timer on my stove and just walk around my kitchen dining living room area over and over it was boring but it was only 15 minutes I can no almost anything for 15 minutes.   Water retention is a big issue was a big issue for me for the first week after surgery.  THe walking help with swelling, digestion , healing etc

Good luck

You're doing fine! Boost your protein gradually as you can, keep up the grea****er intake and prepare to see some nice numbers very soon.
