Driving post-op and during pre-op diet
I read a lot of posts about dizziness and fatigue during the pre-op diet and post-op as well. Have any of you felt unsafe driving during the pre-op diet? Or more than two weeks post-op?

I wasn't willing to drive for the first 2 weeks. The dizziness wasn't playing around. Once I felt like I could walk around without getting dizzy, I felt ok to drive.

Sorry I can't help you there. I didn't have a pre op diet! Just a bowel cleanse and 24 hours of clear liquids the day before surgery.

My life stayed completely normal other than the food part during the pre-op diet. After surgery, I waited until 24 hours after I had taken my last pain pill before driving. That was about 5 days. I had no dizzyness or other impairments that would have made me unsafe to drive. My only problem was that I would get tired. Not sleepy, tired. The seatbelt doesn't really even hit you near the incision sites so you should be good to go as long as you feel like you are. Though, about the seatbelt, take a pillow with you for the first few car rides.
Great, thank you! I'm concerned about driving since I'm currently a caretaker for my dad during his chemo weeks and, if everything works out as planned, I'll be doing the pre-op diet during one of those weeks!

Nothing at all like that. I did have the lightheadedness issue due to blood pressure, but it was confined to changing positions (i.e. sit to stand).
Driving was perfectly safe for me.

I've been on the pre-op diet going on my 3rd week now. I didn't notice much of a change although I got a little dizzy from time to time.
I started out aiming for 1200 calories and am now down to under 800 calories a day. I'm so motivated and I feel so healthy!
